A Tweet in time saves nine

If you have spent any time on Twitter, you’ve learned that the above title is a boldfaced lie.  Not only do we have little idea what were saving nine of, but all that reading and clicking makes time pass faster than an Olympic sprinter.   At Fooducopia, we’ve already lost those hours.  And we will likely continue in this fashion.  Figured we’d sum up some things we learned, so you can choose to lose time elsewhere! Welcome to our new monthly feature, where we report interesting facts, figures and articles found though Twitter.

@ediblestories shared a link from Grist.org: ‘How to get Americans back in the kitchen’. it’s an interesting conversation between two chefs about why the general populace doesn’t cook that much anymore.

Edible stories is the Twitter handle for Edible Communities Publications.  They’re the company that makes those beautiful magazines about eating locally.  If they aren’t in your community yet, check out their podcasts.

Mo of Mac N Mo’s Morsels (makers of delicious gluten free,vegan, & sugar free morsels) always keeps an eye out for health news, and tweeted. . .

@macnmomorsels: Even when you read labels, you find something like this – unbelievable!  (the article is about 2 studies that found traces of mercury in high fructose corn syrup.)

@HuffingtonPost suggested some foods that will help you beat the blues – including carbs, which help promote the production of serotonin.  Finally, a reason to eat bread!

From sustainablefoodnews.com,  a funny story about Chick-fil-A harrassing a vermont t-shirt maker who tried to trademark ‘eat more kale.’  Apparently, Chick-fil-A is concerned the phrase ‘Eat more kale’ confuses their customers.  Oh, so many directions to take this one!  Insert your joke in the comments section below!

@GildedFork tells us everything we ever could want to know about The Cocktail.  Enough said.
