Borne of Ireland and its blustery winter nights, the Irish Nightcap is made to warm you from the inside out. Rich and creamy with hints of coffee and anise, this indulgent treat is the perfect Christmas Eve drink. For a new twist on the traditional recipe try using 1/3 of a cup Frank’s Whiskey Caramel sauce in lieu of sweetened condensed milk!
Yield: 4 Drinks
Cook Time: 7-10 minutes
1 cup brandy or whiskey
1 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk
½ pint whipping cream
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
2 teaspoons instant decaf coffee
¼ teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon ground star anise
1 box pirouette cookies
Whipped cream, for topping (optional)
- Place liquor, sweetened condensed milk, whipping cream, chocolate syrup, coffee, vanilla, almond extract, cinnamon, and star anise in a large saucepan.
- Heat on medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes. Remove vanilla pod and cinnamon stick.
- Pour contents into mugs and finish with a pirouette cookie and whipped cream. Enjoy while hot.
